Key role working across production and planning departments for an Open Pit and UG Operation.

The demands will come from the setup as well as assisting in projects. The aim for the person coming into this role is for them to develop into a Senior Engineer still maintaining the production and planning focus rather than moving into either planning or production.

Your proven production experience in Drill and Blast, Load and Haul, exposure to scheduling and grade control as well as capability with Mine Software will have you working in a sociable, professional working environment.

A great Manager to guide you and who is willing to let the right person take on work outside of the job description if you choose to diversify your experience. Working with a bunch of 2-3 guys in the Drill and Blast team your primary role will cover :

• Design drill patterns, charge plans and tie-ins for blast patterns.
• Compile monthly and weekly costing reports and budget conformance
• Compile weekly drill and blast schedule in liaison with short term planners and blasting contractor.
• Liaise with short term planners for 3 monthly plans
• Liaise with blasting contractor for compliance
• Conduct quality assurance audits of drill and blast practices. Revise and rework drill and blast procedures.
• Mentorship and supervision of other engineers if you’re up to it.

The right engineer should bring 2+ years experience and Vulcan software exposure is also an advantage.

Work closely with the Mining Manager on the running and strategic direction of this UG operation whilst Relieving the UG Manager from production duties as required.

A perfect role for someone ready to take the next step into management but wanting some solid backing whilst making the move. The current Mining Manager wants the right person to assist him whilst getting a good understanding of his role and what it takes to run this Gold mine in readiness for the UG Managers role in 6-8 months. A new satellite operation will be run by the existing UG Manager requiring someone to be ready to step into his shoes.
